What was the design concept used for the project?

For Minal Kale’s project, we used a simple concept with sober colour scheme like beige laminate and clean lines. Appropriate furniture for the living area like sofa, centre table, side table and crockery unit was designed apart from the foyer and television unit. All the furniture was made in plywood with laminate finish.

The overall colour scheme used was brown. In the entrance foyer unit, we made arrangements for sofa and centre table. The only decorative feature used here is the false ceiling. For the kitchen, we only gave trolley and hob as another vendor designed the kitchen.

What kind of furniture was given in the master bedroom?

Keeping the requirements of the master bedroom in mind, we gave wardrobe with internal storage, drawers, cloth hanging system and internal removable shelf apart from dresser with storage and foldable study table.

Was there any functional element to be taken care of?

To ensure that the safety aspect is taken care of, there is safety door with panelling designed at the entrance.

What is the highlight of the project?

The living and television unit shutters minus any handles is the main highlight of the project. Similarly, the foyer unit has single detail without any handle that accentuates the space further.

Did you face any challenges while executing the project?

The client wanted us to ensure that there was minimal or no decorative elements used as her budget was limited. The only decorative element used here is blue colour curtain in floral pattern. Delay in decision making by the client was another challenge we experienced. The colour of the laminate was one example where the client was not sure of her decision. Since the client desired the entire project to be completed in one month, we requested her to be quick with her decision-making process. Due to certain family issues from the client’s side and delay in decision making, the project took two months to be executed. However she didn’t complain about the extended deadline. The client was happy with the end result of the project.
